1. “Does it make a difference which spot I sit in at a black jack table?”
Most serious Black Jack players hate to see an inexperienced player seated at 3rd base. (The last players hand at the dealer’s extreme right.) When a player hits a hand that is Play Black Jack contrary to basic strategy...ie..hits a 13 versus a dealers 6. .etc. . it is annoying to a basic strategy player. If the card the player at 3rd base takes would have busted the dealer’s hand, and the dealer makes a total that beats the table it is especially annoying. It is not a good practice to try and educate a player on the table in live play, particularly a stranger, as to the accepted basic strategy. Customers can and should be allowed to play their hand however they wish. Customers play hunches, have their own black jack odds ideas or take advice from their friends. It is after all a customers own money to wager as he/she sees fit and to play as they desire.

From a mathematical standpoint how another player plays his or her hand and how they bet, does not really effect the statistical probability of the Black Jack - Money Management Technique players around them. Basic strategy players are concerned with making decisions based on millions of hands of computer simulations... Black Jack theory. A card counter is concerned with the plus and minus make up of the cards remaining to be played. Neither of these players, basic strategy or card counter, can know the next card out of the shoe. The decision by a 3rd base player to take a card when basic strategy dictates not to may in fact help the other players and hurt the dealer’s hand.

Card Counting

A card counter using an advanced system involving a multi-parameter count and advanced plus and minus strategy decisions may want to be seated at 3rd base.In order to make advanced plus or advanced minus strategy playing decisions it is obvious that a certain number, (plus or minus) must be reached. It is to the advantage of an advanced strategy player to see as many cards as possible before making an advanced strategy playing decision. Being black jack casino seated at 3rd base gives such a player the knowledge of more cards, which ultimately may indicate a play contrary to simple basic strategy, before he plays his hand. If you are a casual player but like to see a lot of cards played before you act, then 3rd base might be your spot.

If you should find a player making decisions which bother you in some way it might hurt your concentration and make your playing experience uncomfortable. If this is the case then the prudent course of action is to simply change tables. Gaming should be fun.
