Craps Table Etiquette

There are many rules concerning the handling blackjack of the dice at Craps tables. These are designed primarily as safeguards against the possibilities of having crooked dice substituted at the table.

Rules 1

After the new shooter has selected his dice, he must Black Jack - Read Backgammon History roll them toward the end of the table that is fart hest from him. Since the Stickman stands at the middle of the table, the dice must always be thrown past him. When the dice change ends, the Stickman will always announce, "Dice coming out new direction."

Rule

It is a rule at Craps tables that the shooter bounce the dice off the back of the table farthest from him. If a shooter occasionally has one die not get that far, his rolls will be considered legitimate, but if a player consistently fails to get the dice to the back of the table despite warnings by the Stick- man, he may have his rolling privilege revoked and be asked to pass the dice. If a die lands on top of or winds up leaning against a chip on the table that has been bet by a player, it is a legal roll. However, should a die land in the Stickman's dish or come to rest on top of any of the chips stacked in front of the dealers, even though it is sitting upright and not cocked, the roll is void and the decision must be determined by the next roll.

Rule 3

After a shooter has selected his dice, he may do many things. He may make them rattle by shaking them. He may make several short rolls in front of Black Jack - Play by Cheats him pretending to fend off bad luck. He may pick them up and throw them quickly. But the shooter must keep the dice always in full view of all the players and the house men. If he picks up the dice and lowers his hand out of sight behind the table even for an instant, his roll is disallowed and he will be asked to surrender the dice to the Box- man for examination. The shooter then selects new dice, even though the ones he surrendered have been placed back into the Stickman's dish (assuming the Box man judges them legitimate).

Rule 4

The shooter may ask for new dice at any time. He is not bound to continue rolling the ones he first selected. When the shooter asks for new dice, the Stickman will empty his dish and push the dice to the shooter so he can make another selection.

Rule 5

When a shooter has a die fly off the casino table, it is his privilege to demand that the die be recovered so he can continue playing with the same dice. When a die flies off the table, the shooter must call, "Same dice" quickly so the Stickman can hear him. Otherwise the Stickman will place the die remaining on the table in the dish, upset the dish, and push all the dice to the shooter. It is the Stickman's job to keep the game moving quickly.
